Last Days of School

On Thursday, the kids had their final performance, which went really well! Lots of parents came, and the kids had a really good time with it--especially the older kids in the Cowboy Joe play.

They were all dressed up so cute: (Robert, who snagged a cowboy hat before the performance)

After the Spec-Tacle came the big finale, where Whitney and I sang a Russian Christmas song, "Raskazhee Snyegoorochka (sp)." It was so much fun, haha.

Not the best picture, but me ("Father Frost") and Whitney ("Snow Maiden") with the kids right after our lip sync. Hearing them all crack-up the entire time we sang made it so worth it! ("Cowboy Joe" is the kid in the white shirt, center front.)

After the whole thing, Lenna (the sister school's headmistress) gave a very kind little speech thanking us for all we'd done, gave us each a "traditional Russian scarf" and told us to come back to Moscow and visit the schools again someday. I hope it won't be too long before I'm back in Moscow again!

Us after the performance with our native coordinator Gulia (fourth over) and Lenna, the sister school's principal.

The next day, we just had a little party with the kids, where we played some games, watched the cartoon version of the Grinch (they all were so into it) and just said goodbye. It was so strange saying goodbye for good to these kids--I'm going to miss them very much.
